Under the classification most widely used nationally, Texas is not a full-practice-authority state for nurse practitioners — an NP here practises within a collaborative or supervisory relationship with a physician rather than independently. For a med spa that has a concrete consequence: there should be a real, identifiable physician standing behind the practice, and the evaluation that precedes your treatment should be happening inside that relationship rather than around it.
